Mimi Kindergarten, long day care and school readiness centre has been operating and educating the children of the Sutherland Shire for more than 60 years. The Kindergarten was one of the first long day care services to be established in the Sutherland Shire and NSW. Throughout the 60 year operation of the service the owners have remained at the fore front of current thinking in regards to educational outcomes and current practices within the kindergarten, preschool and long day care industry.
At Mimi Kindergarten, we are committed to building bright futures for all children through the delivery of child-centred and play-based influenced early education and child care. Utilising a curriculum founded on these principles allows children to become active participants in their own learning journey and extend their learning based on their individual strengths and interests.
Building a sense of community is an important element of our approach to early education and child care. Educators, parents and the surrounding communities are co-collaborators in nurturing each child’s creativity and curiosity. As such, we encourage open and constructive communication between parents and educators.
Our learning environments are an important asset in our approach to early education and child care. We believe curiosity drives children to explore and experience the world around them. It is this innate curiosity which inspires a child to develop an interest in understanding the world and their place within it.
We are currently taking enrolments across our service.
Our long day care and school readiness centre caters for children in the 2-5 age group and our Cronulla facilities can cater for up to 38 children. We have an excellent outdoor space which includes horticulturalist designed edible and flower gardens for the children to enjoy and reconnect with nature. Our meals are nutritious, prepared with fresh ingredients and cooked on the premises.
